What are the best and worst T.V. Dinners you have had?

I just wanna know... cheat day is coming up! I've had some decent ones, you know the typical fishtick, corn, and brownie types that come in the red box, but I'm looking for something even better!

I've also had some bad ones, which I forget the name of as well, but this company would accidentally mix their corn and carrots into the brownie mix... Not a good combo.

Let's see, red box (maybe stoufers?) turkey and gravy with peas. Honestly most jail food was more appetizing than that. Generic chicken nuggets/fingers aren't that great, as they're made of mechanically separated chicken. Speaking of mechanically separated chicken, my grocery store sold it on it's own, such an awkward meat to cook with.

My favorite TV dinner are the oldschool kind, the big family size boxes of Salisbury steaks, and McRib patties, for $2-3. Obviously frozen Jamaican beef patties too. And Hot Pockets, man, ah, Hot Pockets. Another good one was I think Stoufers had a roast beef in cheese sauce one, with some French sounding name, wasn't bad.

While not a full actual TV dinner there is a certain restaurant that has lines out the door when they have their pie sales, that lends their name to chicken pot pies that are twice as large as the ones in the red box with much better quality ingredients

If you're looking for the full meals I can only think of the 2 brands you already know about, with the sloppy dessert one having slightly bigger trays.

What I usually end up doing is gathering all the prepackaged courses and starting the one that takes the longest to cook first, I'm feeding 4 adults anyway when I do this. Those little snack cakes on the end cap display for around $1.25 a box can make a suitable dessert

Probably Freschetta Pizza. Or maybe Red Baron.

Or some kind of Stouffer's Lasagna or Mostaccoli.

I am an expert on TV dinners since microwaveable dinners are easy for me to prepare and pose no risk of me accidentally setting the house on fire

The best:

Lean Pockets: Pretzel bread Grilled chicken jalapeno cheddar (Just... Wow. It's amazing. There are no words.)

El Monterey Beef & Bean Chimichangas (Pretty good if you're in the mood for something savory. I recommend eating them with Tapatillo brand hot sauce if you find the flavor to be too bland on its own.)

State Fair Corn Dogs (Basically the same as El Monterey up there; just substitute hot sauce with ketchup.)

Lean Pockets: Ham & Cheese (Tastes like actual ham & cheese; doesn't have an artificial flavor to it at all.)

Hungry Man Barbeque Pork (I like to put the meat and sauce on a bun and eat it like a sandwich. Tastes just like food you'd find in a restaurant.)

Hot Pockets Sliders: Any flavor (They don't really taste like the flavors on their boxes, but the tastes they do have are not bad at all.)

Tai Pei General Tso's Chicken (the little meat pieces taste like generic chicken nuggets, but it's worth buying because the sauce they put in it tastes heavenly with the vegetables and rice)

Lean Cuisines: Sweet & Sour Chicken (Like with Tai Pei, the chicken isn't great but the sauce, rice and veggies are awesome)


The worst:

Lean Cuisine Paninis, Lean Cuisine Quesadillas, Lean Cuisine Lasagna... Basically any Lean Cuisines except for the Sweet & Sour Chicken one

My list of "worst foods" is much shorter because once I find microwaveable food that tastes good, I'm not motivated to try any new foods...

Stouffers is best and ironically Banquets is the worst. Syouffers probably has the best seasonings, but Boston market has better raw ingrediants.

Best:
Lidl lasagna! It is immense.
Some supermarket brand pesto and veggie pizza, I think it was either tesco or sainsburys.
Most "Indian" curries with the meat and yellow rice in compartments. I usually used to have Lidl ones, I do like Lidl!
Ready stuffed tortellini also from Lidli. The spinach and cheese one is the BEST.

Worst:
Iceland microwave kebab type things with doner meat in them. They were foul and filled me up with stodge and disappointment.
Some chinese/japanese spicy noodle pot with red packaging. It was nothing but scalding heat, no real flavour.
A freeze dried sachet of macaroni and cheese that you add milk and water to and microwave, the sauce was watery and tasted freaky.
Another similar one but I think it was some other kind of white sauce, it smelled like vomit so I swapped with rabbit who had a tomato pasta.

Best Hungry man beer battered chicken and cheese fries
any meatloaf(tastes way better than homemade.)

I like the Stouffers dinners the best. They taste better than the rest of them.

The only one that I can think of that tastes like real food are the pot pies from Stouffer's. They are warm and filling during the cold and dark of the dead of winter. Also, French bread pizzas are a satisfying quick meal, though I haven't had them for several years now.

Are you refering to Banquet? They have the trademark red box. When Kroger has TV dinners on the 10 for $10.00 sale, I buy them. I am not very picky (just as long as there are no chocolate, potato, bread or rice items - the foods I cannot eat), so I don't prefer one brand over another. Michelina's brand is noce, but you get a small one-course portion (great for dieting, but not if you happen to be a like myself). If I need a larger portion, Banquet, On-Cor and Hungry Man are good, affordable choices in the way of family-sized meals. Stouffer's also has nice dishes, but they tend to not go on sale too often in my area.

I used to like Boston Market Meatloaf and the Banquet Chicken Fingers that came with fries and a brownie. I havent eaten a frozen dinner since 2007 though.

Way I see it, a frozen Stouffers or Boston Market runs between $2.75 and $4.50 depending on the variety, I can get a pizza from a local place for about $6 and have two meals from it, and the pizza tastes way better and is made fresh without preservatives. Or I can go to Wendys or Subway and spend 3 bucks for a meal.

Tbh I haven't relied on any TV dinners (if that is what you Americans call full frozen meals in a box) like Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice since I moved out of home. Getting them just screams lazy batchelorette to me. I did try one once cause it was on special, it was pad thai, it wasn't all that nice.

Not to say I don't buy frozen things at all, but it's usually single things like chicken kiev balls, nuggets or meat pies.

The worst TV dinners that I've had are the ones that come in tin.
