I sent you an answer to your PM, and also several PM's with all those links in them. I split them up into categories and sent them that way so it wouldn't just be a ton of them in your inbox at once. Anyway, when I went to send this last batch, it blocked me. Said I triggered some security thing. It lets me post and also send PM's to anyone else but you. I posted about it in the .net forum and I'm waiting on an answer, but I've copied and pasted the PM I sent you with the last links in them and I'm posting it here. It's only Victorian and other historical links so it's fine. It's easier to just do these links this way than it is to copy and insert them all all over again into the PM, switching back and forth to my bookmarks and the PM, having to open the thing and scroll and scroll every time.

These are the Christian Homekeepers sites, and most of them have a very religious slant, but these ladies are as obsessed with Victoriana as we are, or possibly more! These sites don't all specify Victorian this or that, but they really push Victorian style living, etc without calling it that.

She PM'd me yesterday. She's been busy, like I thought. She's going to get to the PMs I sent sometimes today and also look at the links. I haven't tried to PM her back yet so I don't know if the glitch has been fixed and I can send her a PM or not. It did the same thing to me yesterday when I was replying to Fnord's PM but this morning I was able to PM him just fine so it's probably fixed with hers.

I did find a whole bunch more links surfing around yesterday and I'll ask her if she wants me to send them. If she does I might actually just add them to this thread so I don't end up with that problem glitch again.

They are Victorian links if you are interested, or links with a Victorian "feel" to them. I have a lot of other really good ones and ones that are very specialized to the era if you or anybody else is interested. I've found some really cool and really interesting ones.

I also found the BBC tv show "1900's House" on YouTube and I'll post that link if anybody is interested. They take a regular family and send them to a house built during that time and gutted it and fixed it up with all Victorian stuff including plumbing, gas lamps, and "stove". Also the heat and hot water is Victorian era. I started watching it but didn't get very far, I finally almost passed out from lack of sleep and was able to go to bed and fall asleep, FINALLY. (hormone induced insomnia - not at all fun)

Sorry Olive Oil. I haven't been on today. I appreciate everything you have sent me so far - thank you. I printed out all of your letters because I want to answer everything. If the mailbox is blocking you, I don't know what is happening because I don't know all the in's and out's on this site yet. I've been on the phone with my friend Mary for about the last two hours and now I'm cooking turkey burger's as we speak. I'm going to probably be on later tonight. Gotta do laundry and clean a bit too and may sneak some crochet in since school will be starting soon and I won't have time for anything else. I promise I'll answer you soon.

PS: I typed up a big letter just a few minutes ago on my phone and it said I had to log back in and the letter was gone. That used to happen on Aspies Central too and they had to fix it someway.

It's no biggie. I totally understand that life gets in the way of internet. There are times I don't get online at all for months and then I show back up and am on every day for a while and then I'm gone again. That's life. I don't get offended about that. I was worried and pissed off about the bug in the site. It also did that when I sent one to Fnord. I don't know what it was. It said I had triggered something to make the security software suspicious and I was blocked from the whole site. Then I opened a new tab and it let me in, but it didn't let me PM. Weird. I posted about it in a thread on the .net forum and I even copied and pasted what it said to me there. It's a bug for sure.

Congrats on school! Focus on that and let this slide. Keep this as your relaxation. Honestly I'd advise staying away except for weekends. One tip about school, it takes the brain 16 repetitions to memorize something. Of course that's only for short term but it works. I was a straight A student, and that was why.

I tried Aspie Central and it was horrible. I got banned for not hating Autism Speaks and saying that I don't think they have a hidden genocidal agenda. Really. Also I was discussing something with another person in chat. He asked my opinion on a cure. He was new too. It was only me and him and one mod in there and the mod wasn't even talking. I told the guy my opinion, he agreed with me. We talked about it for a minute and then we left. I got banned because the mod saw me talk about it in chat when asked about it. It had been discussed on a thread that got locked because they didn't like my opinion. Be very, very careful there. Don't get sucked into their group think. They also push oversensitivity and not only acceptance they push superiority. AC was the first place I ever heard someone say that AS isn't a disorder or a clinical anything, it's a personality trait. Somebody here recently said that too, and just like there I was WTF! A personality trait does not cause physical symptoms. A personality trait can be changed with CBT (the psych kind not the other kind lol). I've never heard of a personality trait that causes you to be overly sensitive to light or sound or smells or stress. I've never heard of one that causes you to not talk or to smear poo or any of the other things that autism can cause all across the spectrum. That personality trait theory was thought up by someone who either has very mild AS without a lot of physical symptoms and is angry that people don't like the lack of social skills caused by AS or very possibly their personality in general - because aspies can also be a**holes, social skills aside, or it was thought up by someone who is self diagnosed based on their lack of social skills or their dislike of socializing and idea that socialization is silly and they have no idea what actual AS also causes. I tend to think it's more of the latter that thought it up. It's a theory that is also latched on to in desperation by lots of aspies who want to not have a disability and this theory fits right into their wish world. If it's just a personality trait then by God it should be accepted and will be accepted if they have to annoy the s**t out of everybody they ever meet to make that happen. So, I have a problem with that whole idea, and with AC in general. It's way too out there for me. But, if you like it I do hope you enjoy it there and they treat you well. I thought they hated NT's there though. Do they know you are one? I talked to an NT there in PM's but I don't remember the user name. She didn't post much because she felt like she was intruding but she wanted to read to understand us better. She was really nice, I wish I had got her email and I remembered her name.

Anyway, don't sweat the PM, I'm in no rush and I totally understand. I wasn't freaking because you didn't answer back - I had figured you were busy, I get that way a lot too. I was freaking over that damn bug. I swear I'm getting very close to just staying away until I think it might be fixed. It's frustrating as hell for me.

I did think of you today and wished I had a camera and knew how to upload pics and still had my Flickr account so I could upload them. I dressed in full Edwardian regalia just because I wanted to and it has been a long time since I went full on vintage. Floor length pink satin A line skirt with a crinoline underneath, beige sleeveless high neck lace shirt over a beige camisole, dusky pink thread crochet shawl with fringe, cameo pin at my throat, sapphire drop earrings, and gold and amethyst bracelet. The shoes don't look period but they are the best I had to match. Vintage 1950's pumps with a square toe in a light pink rose print. Yes, my shoes are printed with roses. They are actually from the 50's and I found them at the junk store for $1 like all the clothes I have on today. Actual vintage shoes seem to fit me better than modern ones and they feel more comfortable. I think that may be because women were expected to wear pumps and other heels all day long and they had to be comfortable, whereas today we are expected to kick them off and put on slippers or tennis shoes. They are seen as a pain in the butt to wear and something we only have to wear for certain occasions, not something that we want to wear because they look good. It's similar to how men feel about suits nowdays. I won't get into that though. Oh, and I did my hair like Lady Mary in Downton Abbey. Low bun at the nape of my neck, side part and swept back into the bun. I did completely ignore the era and put on makeup, but I went light and I used light purple and pink for eyeshadow. I did throw caution to the wind and put on purple eyeliner but without eyeliner my eyes look droopy. I'll see what I can do about finding a camera, and you should too. A flickr account will allow you to post pics.

So, I'm glad you found the links and I hope you enjoy them. I'm an empty nester now and have tons of time on my hand so I peruse the internet looking for interesting stuff. I was banned from AC, but enough of that. You need to get a camera cause I want to see your crochet work and your clothes and everything else! I looked at that purse pattern you gave me, but I'm not an intermediate crocheter - I'm more of a beginner and an intermediate knitter. I can't read a crochet pattern very well at all - it all runs together and I'm not sure where exactly to always put the hook. It takes me a while to do a project so I only learn what that project has at the time. Right now it's granny squares and I have memorized the pattern. The afghan is a pattern that I have down fairly well and I really wanted to work with the yarn is the reason why I chose to do that afghan.
