I bought a book online, so I'll have something to read in the dentist's office. Pathetic, I know.

Nothing pathetic about that at all. I find having a book with me in crowded situations helps me to ignore all the people around me when I am in a non-social mood.

As an alternative to anti-depressants, I decided to purchase a whole plethora of vitamins last night. I am hoping a sudden influx of magnesium, B & D vitamins and fish oil will help increase my energy levels, elevate my mood and improve my atrocious short-term memory.

I've never taken SAM-e, but non-prescription medicines such as St. John's Wort, Gingko Biloba, 5-HTP etc were all ineffectual to my brain's chemistry.

I am currently experimenting on a vegetarian diet, which, at present, is free from gluten and dairy. Incidentally, my plummet into complete despair and utter hopelessness occurred soon after meat and fish were incorporated into my meal plans.

Coincidence?

Possibly. But after close to six years feeling fine on a meat-free diet it could be of great value to explore the correlation between vegetarianism and a peaceful state of mind.

A bit over a week ago I bought 3 meals while taking a greyhound bus for two days to visit my parents.
