I often fantasise about what it would be like to go in a time machine back to 1989 (year i was born) and walk past (on an empty street) some of my family members including my late grandmother, late grandad, mum, dad and both my uncles.

I have been told i have a look of my dads side of the family and maybe a little of my mums side

Most likely if they encountered me in 89 would they be in a state of shock or they would just carry on with there buissness and not notice me?

Most likely they wouldn't notice you unless you look very similar to one of your family members. It's hard to tell as I don't know what you and your family members look like.

Yes, they do. I guess that's because same sex family members are more likely to look alike.

Even similar-looking family members look very different unless they are identical twins. So I think you would probably only be seen as a similar-looking stranger if you visited your family members in 1989.

Might they 'stare' if I walked past them?

Yes, they might if you look really similar to your dad. It would depend on how similar you look to your dad.
