Hi, my name's Raleigh and I'm an addict.
Sleep? Forget it.
Food? Who needs it?
A life outside my screen? Not happening.
WP's taking over my life.
I tried going cold turkey but the withdrawals were AWFUL.
I need help.

Overcoming a WP addiction by posting on WP? Hmmm. That could work lol.
You may have noticed I'm not 100% serious.
I do spend way too much time on here though.

Yeah, Absolutely I knew you're exaggerating, I am a bit addicted to WP as well. Whenever my work made me bored I found myself lurking here..hoho..just let us be addicted for a while. :D

Ok.
I was thinking one of those 12 step programs.

E.g
1) Log out of WP
2) Log out of the Internet
3) Switch your iPad off
4) put your iPad down
5) Step away from the iPad
6) do not pick it up
7) under ANY circumstances
8) eat something
9) talk to visible people
10) get some goddam sleep
11) ignore the DTs
12) do not think, "I wonder what's happening on WP?"

But hypnosis could work too.

I volunteer with Mozilla and work elsewhere in technology, a perspective from the internet capitol or Earth (SK) is quite informative...

try tapering off. 30 posts per day this week. 29 posts per day next week. 28 the week after that. minimizes withdrawal (at least it works with ciggybutts).

You can always subscribe to threads you find important and build on your prior criteria for nixing discussions. That's what I do at least. That and not using any software so quintessentially addictive as iOS. I know Firefox enters public tests in NZ soon, maybe you'll be early in line for a browser less gimmicky than Safari or Chrome.
