Kakistocracy- a government by the worst rulers

Catatonic- a state of blankness, unreachable

Kakidrosis-bad smelling

Moon-calf (some of you may recognize this one from The Tempest) - is a shapeless mass This mass was supposed to be produced by the influence of the moon. The primary meaning of calf is not the young of a cow, but the issue arising “from throwing out,” as a push, a protuberance; hence the calves of the legs

Epilepsy- a disorder in which the patient is prone to seizures (I just like it because it reminds me of Pepsi lol)

Augur- to predict that something will happen

Bijou- a precious thing, prized

Cloy- something so sweet that it becomes bad, too much of one good thing

That is it for now...I've got plenty more up my sleeve though!

For some reason I like the word 'extant' - still existing; not destroyed or lost.
The only extant ancient Babylonian map is on a piece of clay.

Definitive: a word used to describe a person who defines situations and observes very well.

Because it should be a word. I swear I use it in school.

David, you can thank a young lady by the name of Shandi Finnessey for re-popularizing the former word and putting it into our vocabulary. You're better off doing a Wikipedia search for her since you're in London and you don't know who she is.

Also, ironically, I had never heard of botulism until I had watched a promo commercial for GSN, the TV network Shandi works for. By the way, it's the equivalent of Challenge TV here in America.

Echolalia - repetition or echoing of verbal utterances made by another person. A 1983 report indicated that up to 75% of verbal persons with autism have some form of echolalia (quoted from wikipedia)

love the way that word looks and sounds, and the meaning is cool, too.

Sorry ping-machine, but them be "Aglets".

I've always liked "Wayzgoose": A printers' beanfeast, because...

1) You don't get many words with "yzg" in them... and...

2) Now you'll have to look up "beanfeast".

That reminds me, there are two acceptable spellings of the word 'judgement'. I prefer the one with the 'e', because judgment, with 'dgm' all together, just looks wrong. I used to be a paralegal and a lawyer and I would argue about this forever. Never got it resolved.

(Now what was that word I came here to post?)
