What are your most important things and why?

Mine are

1. My lab top - Because my lab top is my only friend right now, and my lab top is my moving company I run.
2. My diary - I record something valuable randomly on a daily basis.

Tools, as they enable me to make money and create nice things.
Bicycles, freedom, transport, fun.

I don't actually own very much else.

Bikes, car, skis, laptops, smartphones. I just got back into my local dirt BMX park yesterday & I'll keep that up while waiting impatiently for winter...

Computer, Internet and what you can do with them. Not much else. Addiction and warp your perceptions... but even before I had 24/7 Internet I didn't care much about material things.

I'm thinking a lot about survival things, like place to sleep and food and general health (which IMO is often overlooked), but I don't think you meant that.

Um...my DS and 3DS, my books [I have a seven-foot bookshelf and more books on the floor...], my fuzzy things for when I'm feeling moody or angry, my laptop I guess, my family/friends, the books I write [I put all of my manuscripts in a box that I can easily grab in a crisis, so i'm crazy prepared], my journals [although I find it hard to write in it these days for some reason], and stuff that makes me happy [sunshine and flowers and kittens and stuff like that].

My health, happiness, and freedom are my greatest treasures but I do have a few material items that I'd get pretty cranky if anything ever happened to them. :)

Like my stories, comics and cartoons that I made myself. I always worry about something destroying them like a fire, or and other things like furniture and appliances can be replaced or fixed but I could never replace, rewrite or redraw them all. I'd just be too overwhelmed by the loss. :(

Yeah, I keep my stories and journals right by my bed so I can grab them. Plus I've got all of my karate weapons in my closet, so if something happened I could probably escape out the window with my box and essentials. That's a good point about health and happiness. I would say that those are the most important immaterial things for me, along with being loved and understood one day.

I value my cell phone and iPad for the purposes of communication and information, my cats for the purposes of comfort and companionship, and my husband and family for the purposes of love, trust, and support.

\m/Metal\m/....do I really have to explain why 8)

My metal albums and metal related stuff including shirts, tickets I've saved from concerts, my patch vest ect.

My boyfriend and family/friends who are close to me

My lap top and/or phone since those allow me to be connected to the above mentioned people when not with them in person, listen to music and access helpful information online and such.

I suppose my various devices for ingesting cannabis, sucks when they break so I try and take good care of those.

Those are the main things I can think of right now.

I looked up "Thing" in the dictionary, its definition is as follows :

'Thing' is a rather useful little word that can be substituted for most nouns or noun clauses. It's main uses are:

1. An object you can't remember or don't know the name of.
2. An interest or area of knowledge
3. A penis.
4. An engagement or appointment.
5. A romantic relationship.
6. Used in any variation on "there is this thing where ______" which is used as a filler.

3. A penis ----> I guess this implies a human…(Don't be too logical with me) So we include humans into things here.

I should add more - the possible SO, Wifi.

Pls Drawyer...
People say "thing" for "penis" because they don't always feel saying penis is appropriate to the situation.
It's like a euphemism.
