More Male Support Workers Needed
Page 1 of 1 [ 1 post ]
I've got a support worker who I see once a week; he's male and a few years older then me (I'm 52). I find that he's the ideal person for me; I can talk to him, he understands my circumstances and can advise and direct me...unlike the woman support workers, careworkers, and social workers who are just kind and sympathetic...not really what I need. I find it strange, and unacceptable to myself, that care and support for people with a syndrome or disability that disproportionately affects men seems to be dominated by women.
