Hello everyone! I'm currently a masters student at Arizona State University, and I need to interview an individual for an assignment for my class. In order to learn more about autism I need to either interview an individual who has autism or a parent of a person who has autism. If anyone is interested in working with me, we could set up an interview session through Skype. I would really appreciate the help! I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks!

Melissa

You can interview me if you want, but I don't talk and don't have skype. So would have to be via text in PM. Or even in this thread.

@EzraS: Don't give out your real name, or any other details that could be used to track you down and identify you, or that would allow someone to steal your identity.

Thank you for looking out for me :) I actually tried to track myself down a few days ago, but only found forums I have posted to. I was taught to not give out specific information about myself like full name, exact location, name of school etc. I won't even do that with the person I talk to the most online.

OP, why don't you tell people what your project is about. "About autism" doesn't tell us very much. You could also tell us about yourself and what you're studying.

It would also be helpful to know if you're planning to show the Skype footage to the class. Either way, you might want to draw up an informed consent document for the volunteer.

A person volunteering could make a Skype ID that wasn't connected with their real name and point the camera not at their face, or do it in shadow, if they wanted to protect their identity.

If you don't have any autistic people volunteering, you can always interview me. I am not autistic and will provide my real name and face. I am a critical autism scholar from Virginia Tech. Maybe a last resort option for you.
