Happy National Grouch Day ! !! - Grouch away
Happy National Grouch Day!! !
When I heard that it was national Grouch Day I thought, why? I am too grouchy and I dont like it, but then it kind of dawned on my. I am always told not to be grouchy and not to gripe over little things. I am a huge rule follower and I have tones of pet peeves. But today I officially give you license to grouch (but no names - be careful this is social media)
I will start it off with a barrage.
I am tired of being different, I want to be normal! I am tired of people not understanding me. I dont want pity, but I also dont want people to just pretend I am the same as everyone else.
I hate all the games we as people play. I wish people just knew you loved them and you didnt have to tiptoe or stroke egos. Someone can annoy the heck out of you and you still love them. If someone is crunching to loud, I wish you could just say, hey your crunching loud, I know you cant help it, but you do know you are crunching loud, right.
All this pretending not to notice stuff to spare peoples feelings is too confusing to me. I forget the lies I am supposed to live by and say the wrong things. Or more often I am confused and say nothing and then thata is the wrong thing to do. Just tell me what the right thing is to do and I will do it.
Drivers - there are rules to the road and laws, obey them! You are not special just because you need to get somewhere fast (probably because you waited to the last minute). Just because you can cut me off and weave in and out of traffic does not mean it is right.
Turn of the garage light!! !! ! Rinse off your dishes!! !! go to bed without complaining!! !! Ask me to do the 5 or 6 things you want me to do by giving me a list all at once vs saying them one at a time every 5 minutes while I am trying to relax and enjoy the hour or so of my life not taken up by work.
Dont invite a socially awkward Aspy to your loud work pitch in and expect them to remember one more thing and bring food and enjoy the weird assortment of strong smells and yucky looking concoctions and have to make conversation on top of that.
If you are going to change my schedule unexpectedly, please tell me plenty in advance. I require at least 20 minutes to get used to a life changing change before it goes into effect.
If you put me thru the social wringer for more than 2 hours, I need at least 2 hours of downtime to recover before I go back in the emotional grist mill again.
Dont expect me to know what you want me to say. Tell me what you want to hear and I will truthfully tell you thaat I agree that is exactly what I am feeling.
I know there is more to say - more to come today - might have to extend National Grouch Day. probably not going to happen though, Darn it! Just my luck.![]()
