This place used to be one of my obsessions...lasted on and off for two years, took a lot of photos.
It is called Whitecroft Hospital and is on the Isle Of Wight here in the Uk.
Built in 1894. Closed for good in the 1980s.

It probably was back in its day. Remember my comment about Bedlams and Willowbrooks?

Abandoned Mental Institutions are sometimes hotbeds for paranormal activity, especially ones here in the States. Be careful. Sometimes you have no idea what you could be digging up.

Oh, I found out soon enough lol, and that was the main reason for going there. Had some very disturbing experiences there, to say the least. The images with the other people is of a paranormal team I called in for an all night investigation. The recordings I got there are linked somewhere on page 2 or 3 of this forum section.

I love brick buildings, especially with ivy on it.This looks alot like a movie about a haunted psych ward....I cant remember the name of it but the story was about a construction crew that came to renovate. One began killing his co-workers by using something that looked like an ice-pick,that was supposedly used for doing lobotomies...it was low budget but had a spooky atmosphere.

It looks like it would make a great squat, hasnt anyone tried to take it over to live?

In Florida, I've been reading about an abandoned hospital in Tallahassee, called Sunland, and an abandoned school, which has proof of dark arts being practiced there. There's an interesting website about these and more, called www.theshadowlands.net

Those pictures are very cool and creepy! I love old/abandoned buildings, as well as anything medical, so that's fascinating to me.

I used to spend hours on that site, longing to be able to visit some of the derelict ones in the USA. Was in contact for a time with someone involved in that site. *sigh* IT is still an obsession for me, these old, derelict places, but have no one to go to them with since leaving my ex.

I like to de-demonize places like that. I've got a powerful prayer that does the job: Web Page I recall the house where I spent a lot of time dabbling in the occult ended up with lots of imps in it. I was glad when my parents moved. Later I became a Christian and learned how to shut them down off of places and people.

Theres a mental hospital just outside cambride in fulbourn, i used to work in the 'new' buildings round the edge, but my housemate was demolishing the original hospital in the centre - in a cellar-type place they uncovered chairs with lockable iron buckles down the sides and human skeletons :o
