jaw problems

ok i was wondering if anyone suffers for some jaw problems like mine. my jaw is all messed up son, and it is terrible! it just pops out of place when i eat or chew anything, and now i have cronic pain in the left side of my jaw for like the last three weeks. since this really isnt an emergency i would go to the doctor but i dont think theyd want someone in there with such a non lifethreatening thingy. help!

I don't have this problem, but my friend has TMJ, which is sort of what that sounds like:

well yes since i have the facial structor of a neanderthal i can see that being the cause hahaha
i hate having any kind of pain on my face

I have that, it's not as bad now though. My jaw usually feels like its a bit to the side and sometimes when I've opened my mouth, I've had to open it slightly sideways first. It's always on the right side though whenever it feels stuck.

Clenching means you tightly clamp your top and bottom teeth together, especially the back teeth. The stressful force of clenching causes pressure on the muscles, tissues, and other structures around your jaw.
- I do that, maybe that's what's wrong with mine. I don't just do it when I'm stressed though, I do it in lectures when the lecture is really interesting

Sounds like TMJ which,I dont think they can do much for.Sometimes they give you a "mouth guard" to wear while sleeping if they think you grind your teeth.

If you have dental insurence?It maybe your teeth and not your jaw...the nerves in the fave are so close together that an infection can actually feel like it is in a different place then the real proplem...also possible ear infection can seem like jaw pain or tooth ache.....so,go in and get it checked out.....If it is really an infection if could spread(even to your brain)and cause a lot of problems.An anti-biotic offers fast relief if it is an infection.

Oh! I didn't even think of this before but - have you had your wisdom teeth out? If not that could be a problem too. They can grow sideways in your jaw or get infected and be very, very painful. If the pain is in one specific place that's very likely and you should get an x-ray done.
