If i wanted to post something say for example in the adult forum, because it had some adult content, but it clearly related to LGBT, should or would it be moved to the LGBT forum. The same if it is a random topic or a love and dating topic, but referred to LGBT.
My point being, its good to have LGBT section, but does Love and Dating section become by default Hetro, and the same for random discussion.
Its not a criticism, its just a thought in general about being in a minority group by default.
I guess because unlike say a topic that relates to computers or maths, sexual orientation is more personal. There are not groups for different races or ethnicities as of course it would be divisive.
Anyway, like i said its not a criticism, its just a thought about there being a down side to having a group that relates to gender orientation, and placement of thread according to topic.

It should be posted in the appropriate area without the subject being defined as either LGBT or hetrosexual, as this is the only route to full acceptance.

I think if it's an Adult topic then it should be in Adult, if it's an L&D topic it should be in in L&D, if it's a computer topic..............etc. Irrelevant of whether the subject is LGBT or heterosexual.

I agree that separating subjects by sexuality is divisive.

It might be more effective to PM Alex with your concerns.

I think this is one area where said demographic faces having to choose between equality and special snowflake identity.

You can't have both.

I think posts in the Love and Dating forum are usually formulated specific enough to indicate if a person is hetero- or homosexual.

Most of the times, relationship issues are the same, and can be applied to both demographic.

Therefore, I think posters will specify orientation if it becomes relevant to do so, if the issues pertain to just one of the demographics.

I don't think there is any inherent bias against homosexuals in the Love and Dating forum.

LGBT forum deals with discussion particular to that demographic, right? Then there is nothing inherently heterosexual-centric about the Love and Dating. I never saw homosexuals chased from there or ostracized in any way.

In my opinion, if a thread contains any adult content (references to sex etc.), it should go in the adult forum because Wrong Planet is a family friendly site, and young children can view this forum without even having to log on so those threads should go in there for their sake.

An LGBT-related thread that involves talk about dating would be more suited for the LGBT forum IMO, but I don't see any harm in those sorts of threads being posted in LD instead.

My concern is people posting threads about sex in LD instead of the adult forum, because a young child could easily read them. It's worse if a thread's title contains a reference to sex: if the thread gets moved to the adult forum its content is hidden from under-17s and guests, but the thread's shadow is visible where it was originally posted (like this).

......in the 'Introduce Yourself' thread, there was a twelve-year-old for awhile, and also a very nice nine-year-old.

Not all members post their ages, so thank you for reminding us.
