I was diagnosed with aspergers and for as long as I could remember I had great trouble in social interactions. Back In highschool school I hung out with a group of stoners, and on weekends we smoked weed. I noticed that after a few hits of weed I'd get extremely social and annoying at times.
Now that I'm a bit older I meditate and smoke weed and it helps me tremendously , I no longer feel the need to discuss only my obsessions and can talk about a variety of topics and really enjoy being social. My anxiety is pretty mmuch non existent , I feel relaxed and calm all the time, and best of all I hardly smoke any weed , in fact I only smoke once a week.
Has anyone tried this and if you have are any of the psychological changes permanent.

I can't even stand cigarettes, so I can't imagine smoking weed. Even if it's "medicinal". With my luck I will suffer the more negative side effects. I don't want to be some doped-up hippie with bloodshot eyes who no longer gives a crap about anything. :?

I don't get why people think it's harmless just because it's a plant. There are all kinds of plants that are very toxic and can even kill you. Ever heard of poison ivy? Stinging Nettles? Death Cap mushrooms? :skull:

I and most people I know/hang around have been smoking cannabis for years...yet none of us are 'doped up hippies with bloodshot eyes who no longer give a crap about anything'(though yes getting stoned causes bloodshot eyes, but it wears off). It would be boring to do nothing but sit around and smoke cannabis.

I don't meditate, I have tried but can't unfocus or whatever enough. But I do find cannabis to be helpful it just gives me an over all calmer feeling....I have anxiety and can easily fall into depression but smoking cannabis seems to keep my mental state more stable which decreases that. I do enjoy the high as well.

I'm with Sweetleaf on this one. I smoke weed. I've tried meditating but I have trouble with it.

It's not harmless just because it's a plant. It's considered harmless because no one has been able demonstrate that it is harmful. No one has ever died or overdosed and no one has been shown to have gotten cancer or anything else from it.

Also there is nothing wrong with hippies. They are by and large very friendly and peaceful people.

All of you need to learn to meditate it's extremely useful and can definitely get rid of your anxiety and depression.

i enjoyed weed when i was young for its aphrodisiac effects. now, older and wiser, i don't risk jail and lung cancer for that. if it were legal, i might try it as a consumable. i hope it becomes legal. bernie wants to make it so.

i meditate a little. should do it more. it actually changes the brain in measurable, healthy ways. it takes practice, and i'm not perfect, but i can focus on breathing to a count. random thoughts don't kill meditation. they are just brief interruptions. sometimes it helps me fall asleep.

I smoke but meditation? I don't have the time, I can't sit in one spot like that and clear my mind, way too easy for me to get distracted, way more of a pacer. I doubt understand all the claimed benefits of it.

I used to smoke everyday, but not anymore. Now it's more every couple of months sort of deal.

As for meditating, I don't do it as much as I should. I definitely feel emotionally better and more focused when I do it. I like to follow Sam Harris's guided meditation. Without it, admittedly it's pretty to keep at it.
