My main line of inquiry is whether Aspies tend to enjoy eating spicy foods(capsaicin-bearing peppers), and other sensorially painful and unpleasant foods which animals and children tend to reject. Any other input on your food choices is appreciated however.

I tend to like moderately spicy food (most store-bought hot sauces are below my threshold), but I always hated sour foods and tart fruits. Even slightly unripe strawberries are a bit much.

For some bizarre reason I have always had somewhat of an affinity for cereal and dried fruit.

I've been told I like pretty bland food. And maybe it's true. I can't handle any spiciness whatsoever, and if something has too much stuff on it, like frosting or sauce, I have to scrape most of it off before I can enjoy it. I rarely salt and never pepper my food. Sometimes I have to add a little water to my juice. Now, I'm not totally boring; for example I won't drink hot tea or eat cauliflower because those have NO flavor... but I guess I just can't deal with super strong flavors.

Enough capsaicin basically soaks the brain in endorphins. Hence it's a progressively acquired taste...
