E2LA's 2015 message

Hi, guys, E2LA here. 2015 was another year of growth and kindness, in spite of all the badness in the world. Even thorough it all, I always want to be sure I want to be a beacon of happiness, joy and kindness in the world, in one that tends to try and crush such things into dust. I quote Roy Mustang: "Nothing's perfect, the world's not perfect, but it's there for us, trying the best it can. That's what makes it so damn beautiful."

As usual, I had some awesome times at the anime conventions I have been to; next year will be my 10th anniversary of the first one I went to, SakuraCon 2006- what a decade it has been, making new friends at these places. I may be almost 30, but I show no signs of slowing down at going to these things. They are my haven for fun and adventure with anime fans, and all sorts of other things.

I've learned, that life is NOT a big race; everyone does things on their own pace. Even though I am almost 30 and still single, I find myself more at peace with who I am now- I've learned to love myself for who I am, not who I wish to be (and NOT in a narcissistic sense, bear in mind).

I'm an uncle now, for real- and we bring our niece up to take care of her. Parenting- it's a full time job, and when it comes to being grandparents, a total team effort. Everyone has a role, and like a good sports team, we always have to bring our A-game each and every day.

I will be heading out of town tomorrow, so I will sign off for now, and wish you all a happy 2016. Hopefully, I will at the very least stay up until midnight to bring in then new year with ALL of you. Cheers. emoticon Good night.
