Leaving Comments Online

I'm curious about whether or not I personally should leave comments on YouTube, FanFictionDotNet, DeviantArt, Wikipedia, TV Tropes or any other websites that I frequent. I'm concerned about privacy and security issues. I also fear that I'm addicted to these websites because of all the time I've wasted and the sleep I've lost from just being a passive observer. I also might need help balancing play with work, since I'm currently in-between jobs.
