So I'm guessing you've all seen the drama and protests surrounding the latest Oscars, due to there not being enough people of color among those nominated. I think it's just people looking for something to complain about. If it were happening year after year, then I would agree that they're whitewashing things, but this is basically the only year that this has happened. What do you think is a more logical explanation? That the people who run the Oscars are racist and are actively scheming to discriminate against people of color, or that most of the good performances just happened to be from white actors this year? And what do they want to do about it? Give obligatory awards to black actors just for being black? What are your opinions on this?

IMO, it's not only the Academy that's racist, it's also most of the major studios for allowing racial stereotypes in movies and TV shows. Hollywood thinks that audiences are too stupid to know what a stereotype is.
