I remember back in the day the alarms at the exits of Walmart gave such a message after making a "ding" noise. Nowadays they just do the plain old "beep beep beep beep beep".

Ding reminded me of a doorbell which reminded me of this.

I usually don't listen to or understand anything that comes on after "ding". Although last time I was at Walmart I kept hearing something about someone's being parked where it shouldn't be several times. I'm thinking of carrying soft foam earplugs around with me to block out the hideous noise.

This reminds me, early last week I was at Shoppers Drug Mart and when someone's voice came on it was such a high-pitched, soft and very girly female voice that I was tempted to tell the cashier, "No offense but I think your speakers have a mouse in one of them."

But I thought it might be mean to make fun of someone's voice. You never know, they might one day become a voice actor for a famous cartoon character, like Yeardly Smith who does Lisa Simpson, and sounds a lot like her IRL, and other kids used to make fun of her voice, as well as her name, e.g."Yard stick".

I'd forgotten that "Party Quirks" bit on Whose Line. Too funny!
