The first sign that spring is approaching is when you walk outside and get overwhelmed by the neighbour's yards all being filled with several months worth of dogshit thawing out and starting to turn rank.

Me neither until I was about 22 and suddenly it hit me like a punch in the face. Since then I've never been able to walk outside after the thaw starts without snickering a bit over that observation.

Ticks ,ticks ,and more ticks.
Treated the dogs and a few big ones I missed died and fell off. Stepped on one and it popped like a grape.Luckily I had crocs on.
Wasps getting trapped in the screened in porch.I have to rescue them and release. This has to be done carefully as I am allergic to the red ones.

Children looking outside, and begging to go to the playground.

Yesterday The noise of DIY powertools... promises of painting etc made long ago, being kept.

Today
Not a cloud in the sky for most of the day, no shouting children and no powertools.
I may even have got a little sunburned, it reached heady highs of 15 Celsius.

It didn’t make it to 15 today here in New York.

It did go up to 25 one day in March.

Roses are all making their first flower buds, at least three species of bee buzzing around, ginkgo and fig are both unfurling the first leaves of the year.
Blueberry blossom coming out, and I’m sure everything has grown by three inches in the last week...

Really rained hard last night.
Woke up and felt I better go to town, good thing because the road is falling off AGAIN.
They had plants at the store and since I’m getting bad germination with my tomatoes I grabbed some plants at the store.
I only met one car coming and going. Its really nice without those pesky tourists.
