In my area we have Meijer, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Kroger, and Marsh and we typically alternate between them, depending on what foods we want and if we feel like going someplace different. For instance, my mom and I went to K-Mart last week, but we're planning on going to Meijer later on today. And the week before last week, we went to Wal-Mart. So what grocery stores do you shop at?

I don't usually go shopping, but my mum either goes to New World a short drive away, or Pak N Save in the suburb nearby.

Asda or Sainsburys. Prefer Tesco, but not one near enough to me... Uk supermarkets of course.

My dad usually buys our groceries at FoodMaxx (cheap and closest to our house), but I like Save Mart and Trader Joe's.

Whatever's easiest. I have a 40 min walk to do groceries, so I can't be picky.

I got to the Grocery Outlet, name brand foods still in the sell by date, but gathered up from commercial grocery stores and sent over to the Outlet to sell at aggressively discounted prices.
I can relax and buy name brand foods for up to 70 to 90% off of regular grocery store prices.
they circle the 'amount saved' on the sales tape and it gives me a little thrill to know I am being sensible with my purchases. It's all a sham, though, because I would never buy name brand stuff at a regular grocery! too expensive!

I also go to one of those huge warehouse stores, although throughout the years, I have sat down on the floor and simply wept at the huge selection of bread. Of course, I had no idea I am AS at the time, and wondered why I was acting so weird, when other people didn't seem so overwhelmed by it. They certainly were curious and alarmed about MY reaction, though.
and I had to get it together and get the hell out of there as they called 911 because I wasn't being very coherent at the time.

now I know to eat before I go, to have a list ( I divide the list by aisle so I don't get lost which saps my strength under the fluorescent lights and the noise, noise, noise and people. I go late at night and although the stockers treat me like an inconvenience I can ignore them pretty well.

Also, I can start to feel when I have had enough, now, and get the heck out of there before it exacerbates my condition. Just knowing that now is worth all the therapy money could buy!

Price Smart. It should be called Price Stupid, because I can't take the cart to my flat, and than bring it back. There's a mechinism in the front right wheel that causes the buggy to stop itself, once I pass a certian line.

Asda or Morrisons mostly, due to proximity. There is actually a Sainsburys nearer but it is a pretty expensive shop. I always still associate it as a supermarket for teachers and vicars for some reason too.

Sobey's or Safeway, with a monthly trip to Superstore.

There is a Sobey's under construction a few blocks from where I live, right across the street from where I work. Once it's open, I suspect I'd do most of my shopping there, as I could pick up a few items on the way home instead of one big shopping trip every weekend.

There are stores other than Walmart?

Well, here in Canada, Wal-Mart's grocery section is scarcely better than that of a large 7-11. I've been to one of Walmart's great big huge "Supercenter" stores in the USA, and liked the concept: taking a WalMart and a full-sized supermarket and combining them into one store. But they haven't done that in Canada.

At a Food City very near my house. It's a smaller store and it's much easier finding things you need than having to wander around for hours in a larger grocery store. It's true that they may not have the variety of larger stores. But I'm in, get what I need and then I'm out. I don't like spending a lot of time in stores, around a lot of people.
