Do they have a place in your shopping.

What was your best long term purchase?

What was your most recent good find?

Ever go back and find 8O oops the item was gone.

The best find currently in use for me is a Classical Guitar purchased in the 70's. Still has a great sound. It took me a while to get used to the wider neck.

Men's sport coats in various colors are still fun to purchase.

That was great and unexpected.

Also as a musician and "Reader and Righter" inspirational.

Thanks for the food and music for thought.

Yes, ever since I discovered them. Jumble sales can offer good value for household/cleaning products, and sometimes nice fine bone china cups.
Long term, when I was a student I bought most of my everyday clothes in charity shops, I still have one of the ski hoodies, I cant part with it, it hasn't faded, or bobbled or lost its shape and its still warm.
Recently I bought some gardening books, before that I bought a sunhat and pearl drop earnings from artisan stalls, and a designer dress from a second hand stall.

Clothes made of polyester never really stretch or fall apart so I don't mind buying them at thrift shops. I also like when you can come across brand new clothing pieces that someone has donated. I once got a $168 Armani hoodie in XS(hard to find my size) which was brand new with tags on which I paid $2 for.

The only thing I really hate about thrift stores is the dust. I end up sneezing and coughing from unbelievably dusty stores bothering my allergies. Almost need a face mask to shop there.

I'm heavily into vintage and my town has a small, church run thrift store. I live in a small town in the Deep South. I get so many actual vintage things at an extremely cheap price!! ! It's my very own mall! I get vintage clothes that are in good shape or very good shape, from the 40s, 50s, and 60s that were donated when somebodies grandmother died. I get well cared for midcentury furniture or earlier styles for almost nothing because it was left in the house when somebody passed away.

I'm very aware that writing it makes me sound like a ghoul, but that's where actual vintage things and antiques come from.

I will go there before I go to a nice store because I have a better chance if finding something to fit my taste and style there.

I would say that my best item from there would be a like new pink silk couch for the formal living room for ten dollars. Couch was circa 1962 I would guess from the style and label. It had obviously been kept out of the sun and had slipcovers on it. That trump's my previous find of a full length sable coat for $15. I've gotten all my furs from thrift stores and never paid much. I've got lots more items I could list but you get the picture.

And thanks to that store, living in a town with only Walmart and Factory Connection to choose from to buy clothes, I don't see anybody else dressed at all like me anywhere. Then again I don't guess I would without a time machine. Maybe I can find a DeLorean there and we can work on that too.

There's only one thrift store that's close enough for me to walk or be driven in a short while to, and that's Value Village. I often find stuff over there for my doll and plush collections that I never find anywhere else in this city because they often came from stores that I would normally have to be driven several hours to, or even travel across the border. I think that's because a lot of the donations also come from the store in Halifax.

One time I even found and bought a G1 MLP of Firefly that was in really good shape. Firefly holds a special place in my heart since she was the main pony heroine of MLP's first TV special, and Rainbow Dash of FiM is more or less based on her. :)

They are always a good place to find old video games and movies. I think the best thing I ever got at one was a copy of Goldeneye 007 for the N64.

I buy my work clothes at thrift shops. Working construction = not a fashion show + clothes get destroyed anyways. $2-3 t-shirts, $8-12 jeans.

My brother used to check out thrift shops for designer purses and shoes to resell on ebay. He once bought a louis vuitton bag for $30 and resold it for $550.

Some stores get the only once sinus or other alerts.

Of course there are new stores I can't go in because of the music style or volume. My wife will make purchases for our grandson.

But I digress.
