Yes! My older brother and I shared a bunk bed for years when we were kids. I normally slept on the bottom bunk. It wasn't until I was around 11 and we moved to a bigger house where we each had our own bedroom that I had my own bed. Obviously we were growing up and needed our privacy.

When I see pictures of modern bunk beds I'm amazed by how sturdy and safe they actually look. Our beds didn't even have a rail on the top bunk. The ladder wasn't permanently attached and we hardly ever used it anyway.
In fact when look back at our early childhood it's a wonder my brother and I lived to adulthood. Our parents and relatives would play lawn darts in the summer before they were banned, usually while having a few drinks. Although I was smart enough not to suddenly dash out in front of them while they were flinging these steel rods of death into the ground.

I still sleep in a bunk bed. No other way to fit a family of 6 in this house, anyways. 3 bedroom house, with 1 double bed and 2 bunk beds. Though one of the bedrooms can hardly actually be called a bedroom, it's so small. Yet it's the room I sleep in.

You have so far opened 18 threads in this General forum today. Please avoid forum flooding by opening only one thread for these random questions you want to ask and raising those in that one thread. You could use a general title for the thread like "Questions about childhood stages".

Secondly, please don't open a random topic like this one - "Ever Had Bunk Beds" - which has nothing to do with autism in this General Autism Forum. You could post it in the Random forum. A few threads eg bullying and nightmares can remain in the General forum.

Please don't do this again as it creates a lot of work for moderators.

Ok. I have left a few of your topics on the General Board as they may be of particular interest to members and you can post the random questions in the Random forum, though please don't flood it too, a maximum of five threads opened in any one day is enough across all forums and others may be removed.

I hated them when I was bottom bunk.

They rocked when I was top bunk.

I've yet to try triple bunks and sleep in the middle.

I've used them on school trips, the rocking annoyed me but otherwise I slept fine.

When I was young I had a loft bed (bunk bed without bottom bed) which was awesome as it had a slide as well as a ladder.

No, in fact they kind of scare me. Either you got this big thing above you or you are too close to the ceiling. I was always afraid the top bed would fall on the bottom one.
