It doesn't seem to matter what the animal is, there are always haters. I've watched videos of other animals I like, such as guinea pigs or baby bunnies, and they're cute and adorable but there are always people who enjoy being jerks and enter dislikes that I just can't understand since I usually dislike a video only if it contains racism, sexism, animal abuse, or is just plain awful.
It's funny how autistic people aren't supposed to be good at reading human facial expressions but we seem to understand animal non-verbal behavior much better than NT's. Non-cat people will look at a cat and be all like "Ugh, this cat looks so smug and arrogant", when the cat is really just relaxed and content. I've seen photos of cats who look "guilty" because they've just done something naughty, but they're really don't know that what they did was wrong, they are frightened because there's a big, loud, irate human stomping around looking for them.
Well, TBH I know all about this because I read about it. But even if I hadn't I would still feel positive about the kitties.
And then there's all the superstitions about cats that still persist even in this day and age. I once heard on TV that black cats were constantly being killed in Italy until around 2008 when animal rights begged the pope to ban it. I even read that black cats and even dogs are less likely to be adopted in animal shelters because of this ridiculousness. The only problem I would have if I owned an all-black cat is it would be harder to find it in the dark unless I bought one of those reflective collars.
Some people even blame cats on reducing bird populations. While it's true that feral cats hunt birds and pet cats still have the instinct, I think humans, as usual, are the primary reason.
