My wife tells me I go into running description of things going on in the house.

She also reports it's sometimes OK and sometimes disturbing.

Anyone with that experience? :?:

I've had similar experiences at work. I "narrate" pretty much everything I do - which I can do silently when I put my mind to it, but always ends up being vocalised once I get engrossed. I need the words to make my intentions concrete - a little compensation for executive functioning problems, I guess. It did used to drive some of my colleagues potty having me sat there all day announcing the purpose of every little mouse-click - especially as I tend to talk to software as if it is a naughty toddler most of the time!

Running subtext or commentary. as an actor or mime is not noticible.

At home it is.

At work my mouth filter is finer.

I have the opposite problem - its very hard for anyone to get information out of me. Apparently what I consider to be succint is seen as unforthcoming and frustrating.
