It depends on the type of alarm. Can't say I actually like hearing them. Some have a pitch ( or variable pitch) that is just down right painful. Hate it. I've heard some that make me jump out of my skin and freeze. Others don't bother me at all, they do what they're supposed to- make you say, "Oh s***, I need to be somewhere else."

Some types make me jump out of my skin, I hate those ones.

I thought that the idea of a fire alarm is to imform me that a serious fire has started and that I should calmly leave the area. It is not for making me jump out of my skin.

I hate sudden noises, they instantly give me adrenal overload.

I hate when my brother suddenly starts screaming, because it sends me into fight or flight, and for a few seconds it makes me almost deranged, I want to hit him in the head.

The one in our house goes off when my mum cooks sometimes. It's annoying, but I don't hate it because it could save my life one day. I'd rather have one & live than not have one & die just because I don't like the sound.

No I do not like fire alarms. I particularly do not like tones especially the ones that mean my dad is going to a call.

i hate them, but there one i loved:

"Brannalarmen er utløst! Vennligst forlat bygningen! - Brannalarmen er utløst! Vennligst forlat bygningen! - Brannalarmen er utløst! Vennligst forlat bygningen! - " seriously, some dude repeating "the fire alarm has been set off, kindly leave the building"

we would joke about where he was hiding, and how calm he kept as the potential fire ensued

I find them exciting! Home and small building ones less so, but if they go off in a large building (i.e. school, shopping mall) it's such a huge adrenaline rush.

I hate them. Especially the one at my school - it's really loud and high-pitched. Even the NTs hate them.

I love the sound of fire alarms almost as much as I love the smell of gasoline.
