Does anyone like to have things done a certain number of times or maybe not necessarily a certain number of times but either an even number of times or an odd number of times? Sometimes it bugs me if I do the same thing an even number of times and not an odd number of times. I know it sounds totally strange and all but it's kind of hard to explain. For example I installed Linux on a spare hard drive of mine on my computer and have windows on another and then two other drives that I store files on so that makes a total of 4 hard drives and I don't like that because it's an even number but not to the point where I can't stand it or anything and would go buy another drive just to make it have 5 for the heck of it but it just kind of bugs me and so I am just wondering if I am the only person like that or not. It's not the the point where I can't stand it or anything, just something that I think about.

Sounds a tad bit like OCD. I do that.

I do that too. Except I like even numbers better than odd ones. Generally.

For me it always has to be even.

For years I had this crazy thing with the TV volume where it always had to be on an even number.. though I've since worked on letting that go.

But I'm still overly, and strangly, aware every time I change the volume whether it's even or odd..

i've always needed it either on the 0 or the 5.ex:if the volumes on 21 or 22 i put it on 20 if its 23 or 24 i need it at 25.

When I draw something, for example, it has to have an odd amount of something.

That means you have good artistic instincts. It's really true that a drawing of, say, 3 or 5 horses looks better than a drawing of 4 horses. This "rule" goes for other arrangement type things too, e.g. a bouquet of less than 12 roses should have an odd number of roses in it, otherwise it just won't look "right". On the other hand, when a single entity (say, a monkey) has more than 1 of something, it tends to look best with an even number of it (e.g. a monkey with odd numbers of eyes and limbs would make for a disturbing image).

Always in 2s.
If I eat 3 cookies at lunch, I'm thinking about it for the rest of the day, until I get ahold of a 4th cookie, then I ate 2 groups of 2.

I'm not OCD, though.

I do everything in 4's and 8's.

Mostly 8's though.

Everything has to be even at the very least, but preferrably in those particular numbers.

Like if I scratch one side of my head it has to be 4 or 8 times and then I have to even it out and do exactly the same part on the other side.

Same with blinking and grinding my teeth.

It's really quite annoying and can be rather embarassing when I feel the overwhelming need to even out a rather large physical gesture in public, haha.

For me it depends on what it is. when I walk, if I step on a crack with my left foot, I must step on a crack with my right, and the crack has to be at the same spot on each foot. I sometimes go out of my way to make this happen. With the actual number of steps, I count them in my head without even thinking about it, but when I stop walking, the number has to be divisible by 3. As for most other things, it either has to be in multiples of fives or an even number (that doesn't end in a 2 for some reason). I've gotten pretty good at hiding it, though, and I rarely get those looks from people who think I must have hurt my hip or something.

OMG  this is so me!! !! I hate it when I have 3 cookies, it has to be two, or four, thus far eating two groups of two. Wow, I thought I only did this.
