One thing I've learned is to try to take pleasures in the little things, the simple things.

Mine got a lot better, in my 20's.
Now it sucks again, but while I
was with friends and in love
it was pretty decent.

I'm 20 now and it's not any better than when I was 17. In fact I think I like it less because I'm at college which I don't really like, well the social aspect anyway. Sorry this isn't much help. What does help me is to remember the things I enjoy - just little things like Butcher said. For me these include running, watching Doctor Who and my DVDs, taking a walk by myself, etc. I hope you find some things you like.

Mine got better when I was seventeen, but only after I moved out of that horrible town I was in. Now things are going great!

Life gets different and interesting but sometimes more stressful. You get to make more of your own choices, which is difficult for Aspies to choose but then we also don`t really like being told what to do either. It can get lonelier if you move away from established family social circles and don`t have independent friends e.g. based on interest groups. My life got better once I got an education and better opportunities.

I hope things get better for me in the future. I hope that by the time I get a job I have a few friends, and I won't be ganged up on by 50-odd people and then be accused of "letting them win". But right now I don't think it's possible

Except for the bouts of depression and time in rehab.
My life has been great.
I am lucky: i do not have much grasp of reality.

I think that's my problem now. I'm just hoping to get through college and then find out what to do next and hopefully I'll be happier doing that. But I know it's not a good idea to always think of the future, its better to enjoy the 'now'. I'm trying and definitely improving, but rather slowly.

Life has gotten a lot better for me. I'm happier than I was, at the age of 17. I'm now 32. :)

At seventeen, my life was pretty good. All the bullies who terrorized my in junior high and early high school were long gone. I won an award for outstanding achievement in English and compiled a good overall average, 3.6, my senior year.

I would say my late 20s were the most difficult. I worried I would never get a job. Then, at 29, I got hired to teach English at the junior college level. That lasted a year. It wouldn't be until 1999 that I worked outside the house again. However, since then, I've been employed almost consistently. I worked at my local newspaper for almost two years and, since 2002, I have been working at the library.

I believe that there were only about two years where things were really bad, mainly as a result of some very big, very mean, bullies. Life does get better.
