With all the recent cats related polls and posts. Do you think Alex should add a section devoted to cats and cat lovers?

I think an animal in general section would be nice.
But I'm not sure if it would be able to do that

I like cats. A lot of people like cats ALOT. But alot of people like cars alot. and iguanas. and weather. and astronomy. in the setup of the site, having a forum to such a specific issue will mean things get cluttered. I would be ALL FOR IT however, if the format of the site were modified for more organization around specific issues.

The sections on this site currently equal: main page --> forum topics --> individual forum --> post.

I woud like to see a few more branches from this within the forum topics. If you had for instance a pet lover section sub-forum within hobbies, you could have your interestes specified enough that you could talk about cats all you want and there wouldn't be too many other topics to have to sort through.

Uh, I don't really care. The only two boards I go to are this and the Off-The-Wall board.

Hello, you may have a great idea there. A forum for hobbies, pet talk, and related subjects.

Yes!
There should be a cats section. I doubt there will be though, it'd probably be an Animals section. But that would be good too. :D I never know where to start cat threads.

Animals maybe, but not just cats although I do like them a lot. And not 'pets' because then whales and other wild animals can't be discussed. But there are a lot of boards on this site already I have a hard time reading everything. I don't want to miss something and then post something on another thread and someone says why didn't you read this. That's sometimes why I get nervous to post on message boards. Well that was a bit of an aside I think.

Yes, an Animals thread would be good, rather than just a cats thread.
I think there'd be less chance of that happening if we had an Animals section. Right now, if I start a cat thread I'm not sure whether to put it in Random, Members Only etc. Whereas if there was an Animals section, all the animal-related threads would be in there, so it'd be easier to tell.

But what about the bottlenose dolphin I keep in my pool? I could talk about her cause she's my pet.

No. Why not just a stickied pet thread?

A pet forum would be a little over the top.

That would be like him making up a section, especially for Routemasters. I don't think it would go over, too well.

An Animal section could work though? Cats would maybe be too specific for entire forum, but animals is a broader subject and a lot of people on here like animals so I'm sure it would be used a lot. I don't know though. :)
