Recently I read very funny story about a thief who has been caught by our Polish policie, the guy stealing shoes from shoe stores, but did so in a rather amusing manner. Our Polish law states that the theft of goods below 400 zł (about 90 euros) is not a crime, but an offense for which the penalty of 500 zł (113 euros) in the discretion conversion of fines to jail time.
This guy stole shoes, and actually shoe (singular), he chose well-known brands, such as Adidas or Nike, chose the package then steal one shoe of a pair (worth, for example, 400 zł) in one day (not to exceed the daily limit of 400 zł) the next day he went to another store and tried to steal the shoes of the same brand, same model in the same size or similar to the shoe stolen the day before 
Shopkeepers lament that those who now buy them from one shoe of a pair, try to be completed, the shoes that they were in complete pairs, but sometimes they vary in size.
They complain that those who buy from them one shoe, or shoes in which each is in a different size 
have also reportedly a problem with writing off the cost of such goods, so that they would refund VAT, and from a formal point of view, they still have the goods so that they do not have a complete pair of shoes
I feel sorry for these people, I mean the owners of these stores and not the thieves, but it's so funny
