^ I've always thought the Britannias were beautiful. A worthy successor to the Sovereigns.

Not many people would recognize the first U.S. coin:

I think that design should be revived today. :D

Our new 50 is pretty swank.
I like the holographic swans.

I've never had an issue counting and handing over notes , but now with the polymer notes I've got to count them 3 times and still feel like I've given too much money , they give me anxiety

I fold the wad in half in my wallet, then slip the notes out from the centre of the fold, if that makes sense.
Find it easier to count that way.

It's not a huge problem as I barely have a wad of cash , don't even have a wallet.

We have them in Canada too. I really dislike them but they are durable! My husband was out walking a couple of winters ago and found a fifty dollar bill buried in slush and ice. The old bills would have fallen apart, but this one held up nicely.

Human nature doesn't change much over the millennia. The practice of "damnatio memoriae" — to damn the memory [of someone] — was often carried out on ancient coins, scraping or scarring the image of a hated character, like Nero:

And to show things are still the same, here's a banknote from the former Zaire, which a new government kept in circulation with the old dictator's head punched out:

Us currency is designed to be durable but it’s still paper. I’ve found bills on the street soaked and they dry out fine.
Why not use that paper .

Also are there any mods who could remove my posts here before this one?

The only thing I can think of is security features , the old bank notes in the UK would pass a UV light test but if you washed them , they failed the test.
