When does fall start in USA? Does anyone know. I'm glad it's August, but that means my birthday is coming

In the Northern Hemisphere, Fall starts on September 22. One day after my birthday, so my birthday falls on the last day of Summer.

It might be getting later in summer right now, but it's still here, and the weather later in the week (east/central PA) is supposed to hit 90. Everybody is trying to sell their Fall stuff already!

I love Spring and Summer, and I find Fall and Winter actually very depressing particularly in the UK, so, I don't like to think thoughts like how nearly over summer is. It's still August, in fact it's early August, the weather is nice right now, I'm still enjoying warmth and ice cream and not having to wear jackets and scarves yet -- it's still summer. No almosts for me.

Don't borrow trouble from tomorrow, it will come soon enough.

Speaking of stores selling Fall stuff -- back in June/July I was horrified to see that my local supermarket had already set up a whole aisle of "Back To School" items -- and the kids hadn't even finished for summer break yet! The "holidays" were just beginning, and in my area they don't go back to school until September. But there it was, all the autumn stuff. It pissed me off. I hate to "hurry seasons" and I hate when stores do it.

In Canada it will technically be fall on September 22. I think fall is a beautiful time of year. The autumn colors are beautiful, the weather is cooler, and kids are back in school. I get to look forward to Thanksgiving and Halloween and I don't have to wear shorts.

I am battling a bad case of summer depression right now, and the season is just dragging on and on. Last week I went to two different shopping centers even though it costs a lot to take a cab, and all they had was boring back-to-school junk, nothing else new or interesting. I guess I'll have to wait another couple of weeks to see what they have out for Halloween, although they've got candy.

I like both summer and autumn. Those are my favorite seasons.
Especially I like August and September. The weather is so wonderful.
And as I like travelling I can fully enjoy it.

Yes I gather that August is back-to-school month now in the US. I find that very depressing. At least in the northern hemisphere, August is still summer. Both technically and by most weather systems. Fall has always been considered as starting in September.

In the UK school has never started up in August. For someone in the UK this is still summer break right now. The schools were still not on summer break when the fall clothing started being in the shops. To me, that's fcked-up. I feel the same when they put Christmas stuff out in September.

Personally I'm one of those people who love Spring and Summer and find autumn and winter seriously depressing. I don't believe I actually suffer from seasonal affective disorder -- I get a lot of daylight actually, even in winter. But I don't like these seasons. In the UK they tend to be cold, dark and miserable. There is nothing beautiful to me about it getting to be nightfall at 3.30 in the afternoon. Getting up in the dark morning and going home in the already-dark. Feeling cold. Having high heating bills.

Some people dread fall and winter.
