I have a cute little black cloche hat that I wanted to wear when I went out (tonight), but now I'm too self-conscious to wear it - Kansas just isn't a big hat-wearing state. Anyone here wear "classy" type hats?

Go out and rock your hat, forget what others think of you. The only hats I wear are baseball caps on rare occasions and beanies in the winter.

I love wearing hats (and associated head coverings) and don't feel properly dressed without one.
My favourite hat is a trilby made out of woven paper.
Wear your hat to your heart's content, I say.

I wear a ball cap everywhere, probably not classy but it's fitted and has a flat rim so it's not like some trucker hat! I hate those snapbacks that are so popular now, no idea why those came back into style. I use them in a utilitarian sense, I don't like sun on my head and I usually put my hair up when I wear a hat which I don't do without one.

I ended up not wearing my hat. :(

I think I need to read the "don't care what other people think" thread.

I have two baseball caps and three variations of German helmets that I like to wear. One baseball cap is black and the other is white. Out of my three helmets, one is a toy one that has been modified with heavy duty paper towels, metallic tape and blue paint, the other is a green German helmet that I've painted blue to celebrate nerodiversity and Sargent Schultz and the third one is a black plastic one that I wear as a night cap.

I love hats. We all need to rock more hats. Plus I really appreciate not having to think about my uncooperative hair making me look like I've stuck my fingers in a power socket.

I always wear a hat when I go outside unless I'm just going out real quick to check the mail or something. I have male-pattern baldness & I don't want my head to get sunburnt. I wear a flat bill ball cap most of the time & I wear a winter hat when it's cold out.

I usually wear a skullcap (beenie) when outdoors.

In recent years I've become a hat person and now don't feel right leaving the house without one. Daylight bothers my eyes even though I actually love the daytime and to be out in it, so I need something to shade my eyes and I don't always like to wear sunglasses.

So in the winter I wear slouchy woolen peaked caps, kind of like berets but with a bill/peak, in the winter, and in the summer I wear baseball caps (I try to find pretty colors and decorative girly ones) or straw hats. I'm currently looking for a felt fedora in a camel shade.

I'd love to see some images of some of your cool hats!

At the moment I have very boring peak caps myself: I had a nice leather cap a few years ago but ended up giving it away as I felt self conscious to wear it. But nowadays I don't care what others may think.

I'd love to get away with wearing some crazier / cooler hats but I'm all self conscious about everything and thus, can't bring myself to do it and get stared at !

I only wear a hat if it's very cold outside.

I currently have 14 different hats in different colours and materials - felt, straw and paper - (but all snap-brim fedora/Trilby hats).

When outside, I usually always wear a hat unless I'm wearing a bicycle helmet...

I'm thinking about getting a high end Borsalino or Lock & Co. hat, but many of their hats only have centre dent creases, and they simply sit too high on top of my head...
