Monty Pythons Flying Circus

My uncle Wayne would watch Lancelot Link every Saturday morning, beer in hand and a six-pack by his side, while his kids were out shooting up the woodlot behind their house with his .22-caliber rifles.

Would Family Guy count as a stoner show?

Maybe not; it's an animated program, after all.

A stoner watching Lancelot Link might say something like, "Dude! Talking monkeys! And they're all spies!"

The same stoner might think that Meg is hotter than Lois; but that's about it.

The movie Free Jimmy is based on the show "To trøtte typer" (translated : Two tired guys) , its hilarious cuz the only thing on their minds is drugs and fear of cops

I've never seen anything stoner in Monthy Python, maybe I'm blind.
I think that's more likely started in the 70's, but when you see old early 60's interviews or shows people are, not uncommonly, on amphetamines and the likes, which wasn't yet illegal or decouraged, at that era.

Amphetamine was first synthesized in 1887 in Germany by Romanian chemist Lazăr Edeleanu who named it phenylisopropylamine; its stimulant effects remained unknown until 1927, when it was independently resynthesized by Gordon Alles and reported to have sympathomimetic properties. Amphetamine had no pharmacological use until 1934, when Smith, Kline and French began selling it as an inhaler under the trade name Benzedrine as a decongestant. During World War II, amphetamine and methamphetamine were used extensively by both the Allied and Axis forces for their stimulant and performance-enhancing effects.
As the addictive properties of the drug became known, governments began to place strict controls on the sale of amphetamine. For example, during the early 1970s in the United States, amphetamine became a schedule II controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act. In spite of strict government controls, amphetamine has been used legally or illicitly by people from a variety of backgrounds, including authors, musicians, mathematicians, and athletes.

I am not entirely sure if this really fits this thread's criteria or not but, I can't help but feel that this new Cartoon Network show "Uncle Grandpa" was made by stoners, for stoners.

I remember the "Lancelot Link Secret Chimp" programme, but I believe another show called "H&R Puffnstuff" predated its debut, so I'll go with that one instead...

I always suspected that cannabis was probably an influence on "The Banana Splits Adventure Hour" - not the cartoons, just the tomfoolery that went on in the band household - but that could be just my own subjective interpretation. Regardless of whether or not it's true, the '60s counter-culture definitely had a bearing on that show's op-art graphics and the surreal humour.

Gotta agree on Monty Python. While I'm pretty sure the guys themselves indulged at times, the fan base in America was built squarely around potheads. The humor was so disjointed and ahead of it's time I think few other people would have liked it. It was way before disjointed was the in thing for comedy. They set that trend.

I remember by uncles getting stoned and drunk and watching that stuff. I was too young to appreciate it at that time, but since have come to love Monty Python myself. And I smoke all the time.
