Logistical/Moving Input?
I will be moving soon and am looking for some input on the logistics of that. This move will require approximately a 25 hour drive, and transporting furniture + household items (approx. 1 bedroom apartment sized quantity) + myself and and my cat.
The issues:
-Keeping costs as low as possible (I need the majority of my savings for apartment deposit, 1st month rent, bills, and back-up rent money in case I can't get a job immediately)
-Driving a moving truck and towing my car, by myself for 25 hours, while managing my cat
-Finding help in moving stuff out of the truck once I get there (I don't know anyone there)
My research indicates the cheapest method is renting a moving truck and a towing apparatus (for my car). I would like to do the drive in 2 days so I don't have to pay extra for the truck and an additional night at a hotel, but I'm not sure this is realistic, particularly since my health has taken a downturn recently. I am opened to suggestions if anyone knows of a cheaper alternative plan.
**Note: Selling my furniture/stuff is not an option as it would easily cost more to replace it than it does to move it. I've also gone through a really hard time (with numerous changes) recently and having familiar things in an unfamiliar place is going to be my tether.
*Bonus: I may or may not want to get a roommate. If anyone has a good roommate sourcing website they've used and would recommend, I would like to hear about it.
