Now, I had, in the past, recieved request for Latin phrases via PM for signatures, locations, and custom ranks. Now I have to admit that I have never learned Latin, and cannot make any great claims to having any grammatical ability. However, not only do I have a Latin dictionary, I also have the resources of a list on Wikipedia of Latin phrases (mostly serious ones), as well as the excellent book, Extreme Latin, by Henry Beard, along with the Discworld Companion (which has a number of badly translated but still funny Latin, or Latatian, phrases), and various phrases from the Asterix books. If you want something sharp and nice, just ask.

BTW, the phrases in my signature mean respectively:

1. I came, I saw, I blew lunch.

2. Been there, done that.

3. Don't insult me unless you know Latin.

Carpe canis. No such word as canum. Canem might be right, though.

How's about 'carpe jugulum'? 'Carpe narem'? 'Carpe somnum'?

Sextus est un puer molestus?

Sixth is the annoying boy?

Yup. Sixth is annoying boy. Historically, Latin kids were sometimes given names determined by birth order..like Sextus or Octavius (or month they were born...Augustus).

That phrase was from my beginning latin book when i was little...Ecci Romani. Sextus was a character. We thought he had a funny name, particularly coupled with the word "molestus." Three cheers for the fourth grade mind.

Cuius testiculos habes, habeas cardia et cerebellum.

When you've got someone's full attention, their heart and mind soon follow.

Si non confectus, non reficiat

If it ain't broke, don't fix it....

Carthago dalenda est.

That would be a good one, since hating Carthage is very popular in the US today. ;)
