Do you ever wear jeans (defined as , um , having those outside pockets on the back , not whther they're made of denim . I guess .) ?
There are so many kinds of jeans made now .
Myself , with my poverty and having very few clothes ~ I am " 100% " , as I just have , as I say below , 2 long bluejeans (Some " proper " media outlets like The New Yorker , by the way , still spell the phrase as one word , not two - " bluejeans " - when the term comes up . That an older spelling of it ?) .
It is funny , when I was young , like 10-12?? I found them too scratchy , and tried to stay away from them .
Then , when I was a teenager I found " EVERYBODY " wearing them a bit much ~ The phrase " sheep " came to mind , this is about 1975 ? ~ I remember an outdoor event at my school then , when I noted so many wearing them and I disliked that .
Later on , in the 80s , I wore them ~ and tried to starch them ! By putting starch in the washing machine , IIRC which I think is not what you're supposed to do .
I had some white jeans too , for a Beach Boys/Eric Carmen circa 1974:-) appearance .
Has anyone ever wore the kind of (as I said above) " raw " ones - really still , like old-fashioned ones - that some places here in SF sell ?
I read some years back that U.S. Navy work uniforms were a 97% cotton , 3% poly mix , back then . Maybe back-pocket-less or inside which would make them " not jeans " by my definition above ?
In some weird way maybe I'm in a mental time warp now ~ If not 1956 , when Jack Kerouac wearing jeans was radical , some 1971 Easy Rider/Two Lane Blacktop " Hey , man " " uniform of youth " concept ?
Yeah ~ I'm really up to date
.
