Always something new to learn.
I am not a geek, but have used computers for many years, so I have a little experience. Even so, I find there is always something new for me to learn, so it stays interesting. Because of health issues, and mental processing issues, it often takes me longer to even attempt new things, and usually takes me longer to get good at new stuff, but I still do tackle new things. Not long ago I started using the search engines to look for songs I like, and then bookmarking the YouTube link for the song in one of my bookmark widgets on my home page. I've tried doing searches right in YouTube, but usually can't get it to work right. I don't mind using my favorite search engine as a work-around for that problem, as it has gotten me a lot of nice music. I also now use YouTube for most of my online video watching, since Hulu changed their "free" tier to a "free trial" tier. They want a credit card number, even for the "free trial" tier, so they can automatically start charging the person the moment the the free trial period is over. I am not giving them my credit card number, so they have lost my viewership. They should have kept a free tier for those like myself, who are willing to put up with commercials in exchange for free videos. Well, their loss is YouTube's gain, as YouTube has a lot of free stuff.
This past week I have been having a lot of fun adding radio station bookmarks to one of my homepage bookmark widgets, so now I can listen to the radio right on my PC while browsing the web. I don't have a radio in this room, so this function is a big help. I didn't know how to do online radio before, but I am glad I tackled this, as I can now enjoy radio music or radio talk in this room.
My next thing will be to use the search engine to find radio stations that offer radio plays, and old radio shows, so I can add their sites to my bookmarks. I know of a couple that I occasionally listen to on my real radio, but now I want be able to listen to them at my computer, too.
Guess that's it for my random post for today. ![]()
