I'll start.
You can tell whether a dog has a fever by feeling the temperature of its ears. If they aren't cooler than the rest of the body, it's fever. This is more accurate than focusing on whether the nose is warm and dry.

I usually think of loads of trivia, but now that I'm actually posting in a thread about posting trivia, I can't think of anything. But I will post something when I think of something.

The first Final Fantasy game was originally going to be called Fighting Fantasy, but then it turned out that there already was a game called that, so the developers had to hastily change the game ideas and design it into what is now Final Fantasy.

Apparently Pokemon was supposed to be called Capsule Monsters, but that was already taken, so they became Pocket Monsters instead.

Cloud Strife was originally going to have sleek black hair, and the original designs for Final Fantasy VII were extremely different than how the game actually ended up.

Akira Toriyama, the author of Dragonball, has also had a hand in creating the characters in the Dragon Quest games.

Gardevoir [from Pokemon] has an interesting Japanese name: saa-naito, which could mean 'sir knight' or 'come, knight'. It seems like it would fit Gallade instead.
