And now, because it appears Robin has a lot of time on his hands these days, a rebuttal.
1. Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control are not natural.
1. Homosexuality is natural; it's not a choice. Also, eyeglasses, polyester and birth control may not be natural, but they are necessary.
2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people cannot get legally married because the world needs more children.
2. Infertile couples and old people legally marry all the time. An 80 year old woman recently married for the first time, as a matter of fact.

3. Obviously gay parents will raise gay children because straight parents only raise straight children.
3. Both my father and mother were straight. They had four kids, half of whom are gay. Also, see goldfish21's meme above which supports this argument.
4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful, since Britney Spears's 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful.
4. Using Britney Spears as a yardstick for marriage is like Mensa using a garden slug as their mascot.
5. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and it hasn't changed at all: women are property, Blacks can't marry Whites, and divorce is illegal.
5. Women are not property, tell David Bowie & Iman, or Robert De Niro & Grace Hightower, or Taye Diggs & Idina Menzel that Blacks can't marry Whites, and when & where did divorce become illegal?
6. Gay marriage should be decided by the people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of minorities.
6. The courts are people, not androids. Where were the majority-elected legislatures vacationing when they were supposed to be historically protecting the rights of minorities during illegal slave trades, claiming that blacks are 3/5th of a human being, saying blacks must ride in the back of the bus, cannot vote or use the same water fountains as whites?
7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are always imposed on the entire country. That's why we only have one religion in America.
7. Gay marriage is not supported by the people who interpret their religions to their liking. The U.S. is not a theocracy like Iran or Saudi Arabia. There are many, many religions in America following all kinds of doctrines, some of which will not appeal to small-minded, Trump-voting rednecks, unfortunately.
8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people makes you tall.
8. Gay marriage will not encourage people to be gay no more than Harry Potter will encourage people to become wizards. How the hell does hanging around tall people make you tall? Does hanging around white people make you white?
9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage license.
9. A dog cannot sign a marriage license. It can't even hold a pen. Comparing two gay folks getting married and influencing people to marry Fido is like dancing the mamba influencing people to fly a plane across the Atlantic. One has nothing to do with the other.
10. Children can never succeed without both male and female role models at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.
10. Tell that to the current President of the United States who was not raised by his father.
11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to cars or longer lifespans.
11. Ass-backwards rednecks can adapt to new social norms, but their small-minded ignorance and lack of intelligence prevents it. It's not their fault they're stupid and were easily exploited by someone who knows better - Donald J. Trump.
12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages will for gays & lesbians.
12. This 12th point makes no sense. As a matter of fact, it seems to negate the other 11 points that preceded it. Separate African-American colleges, such as Howard, are beneficial to black students, just like schools for the deaf prove beneficial for the hearing-impaired, but what does "separate marriages for gays & lesbians" mean? That's a confusing statement. A civil union by any other name is still a civil union, no? A rose by any other name smells just as sweet.
