Nearly every time I google something I need to know, I can never find a decent answer, or the right answer I'm looking for. Like today I was having an iced lolly (frozen popsicle) and my tongue got stuck to it. I couldn't get it off, and when I did my tongue was sore. So I tried googling what to do when your tongue gets stuck to an iced lolly and also what could happen to your tongue afterwards, but all what came up was numerous answers about tongues getting stuck to metal poles. I mean, who the hell licks a metal pole anyway? Who the hell goes outside on a freezing cold day and licks a lamp post?? Surely more people lick iced lollies, so why were all the results about licking metal poles like it's a normal thing?

Google is so stupid. And there are various other things I can't find on Google either. Anyone else get this annoying problem?

That answer probably came up because it was a scene in the movie "A Christmas Story" but the solution is probably the same for tongue stuck on iced lolly.

I rarely look for answers on Google. Normally when I want to learn more about something I go to wiki and search whatever it is instead. I've heard that wiki is not the best source of information there is, but I'm sure it's a lot better than the "info" on Facebook or YouTube.

Maybe the metal pole thing is like something I once saw in a For Better or For Worse comic strip: even if they're told not lick them because their tongue will stick to it, and it will be scary and painful, they'll do it anyway because they wanted to find out if it was true!

Dude you never turn down a triple dog dare.

What gives rise to become the most supreme of competitions, a triple dog dare is not something to take lightly. No matter how stupid it may be, or how reckless.
Its a challenge to determine the primo, the alpha, the baddest of badass!

And we men do this by daring each other to lick icy poles in the wintertime.

I think it depends on how you phrase your query.

I seemed to get some success doing as I always do and typing only keywords, and not asking a question.
"Popsicle tongue ice burn"

I know a lot of people ask questions as they would if a person, but search engines aren't quite there yet. Boil your question down to the most basic parts, and avoid question words.

Google can answer common questions because it's seen them so many times. I reckon you'd get very similar results for typing both:
How tall is the Eiffel Tower?
Eiffel Tower height
... But maybe not on less common subjects.

put your query in quotes.

"like so"

this displays only verbatim matches.

Regarding the Google search my grown-up kids laugh at me because I type it in like I'm asking a person a question. :D

And wasn't there a scene in dumb and dumber where they licked a frozen pole? :D

Just take what you learn from the "licking metal poles" articles and ramp it down in your mind a little bit.
