Nope. Canadian. I live about 16km North of the American border. I visited Washington State twice in December for Christmas shopping purposes - with an expired passport - for the first time in ~2 years or so. I only bothered getting a passport in the first place so I could save money buying cheaper fuel in Wa. After January 20th, I might not bother visiting the USA at all for the next 4-8 years and may make an effort not to buy American made goods as my form of silent protest against Trump ideals by voting with my dollars and choosing to spend them elsewhere.
I can relate to how you feel, but I don't the companies behind American made goods voted him in. I think it's the contrary to be exact. How do you like Canada?. America's not bike friendly.
True to some extent, maybe those who would be punished most by boycotting American made goods aren't Trump supporters at all.. as factory workers tend to be, in general, non-white Americans.
It's also still so tempting to renew my passport in order to fuel up cars just South of the border for a 30% savings on gas due to their much lower taxes. Hmm.
In general I really like Canada, but we're not without or flaws & lying corrupt politicians here, too, like the rest of the world.
Canadian cities are also very car-centric. Public transit here in Vancouver is OK in the city but horrendous in the suburbs so everyone with a drivers licence that can afford a car has one. Vancouver has spend Millions of dollars on making more and more bike lanes throught the city, so if you live downtown, sure, you can cycle around better than ever. But in general Canada is a country of urban sprawl and a lot of Winter, so not really a cycling nation like Holland or anything. Plus we are a HUGE country, so like the USA some places are more bike friendly than others.
