I am… It has up and downs. I would like to live abroad for a few years. But I wouldn’t give up being an American. I would say yes, I like it.

It depends on what you like I think. Every place has pros and cons and the grass is always greener on the other side. My main problem with Americans is how selfish they are in the grand scheme of things. I still like being here though. The country is divided right now but about half of it still believes in treating people right so a lot of the horror stories like I hear in India or the Philippines won't fly here.

One of my problems with America is how politically divided it's become since the Bush era. It would say it's more politically divided right now than at any time since the segregation debate. Apart from the obvious Trump/non-Trump continnum, you've got the whole BLM thing, the transgender toilet debate, things that pit people (not always on the general political wing of their chosen team) in opposition to each other.

There's also a lack of universal healthcare which I find hard to understand coming from a country where it's been standard since the 40s.

The food is good though ;)

I am from the United States but would love to go to Italy because most of my heritage is Italian. I like the United States but I've been told that I would blend right in if I moved to Italy and learned the language. :)

Sorry, I just really love my heritage.

Nope. Canadian. I live about 16km North of the American border. I visited Washington State twice in December for Christmas shopping purposes - with an expired passport - for the first time in ~2 years or so. I only bothered getting a passport in the first place so I could save money buying cheaper fuel in Wa. After January 20th, I might not bother visiting the USA at all for the next 4-8 years and may make an effort not to buy American made goods as my form of silent protest against Trump ideals by voting with my dollars and choosing to spend them elsewhere.

I can relate to how you feel, but I don't the companies behind American made goods voted him in. I think it's the contrary to be exact. How do you like Canada?. America's not bike friendly.

From the USA. In the last few decades people have gotten more coarse and distracted because they are multitasking 24/7. Things just do not work as well, the quality of goods has gone down. Worst of all you have to go through so many steps, bureaucracy, and paperwork to do almost anything.

amarican riviera, born and raised.

for a country of its size and diversity, it's kept itself together surprisingly well. some people push for a social system like denmark and sweden, but those countries are much smaller and more homogeneous which may have played a large role in the success of those systems there.

beautiful national parks and good literature. shame about the bureaucracy and interventionism, though.

True to some extent, maybe those who would be punished most by boycotting American made goods aren't Trump supporters at all.. as factory workers tend to be, in general, non-white Americans.

It's also still so tempting to renew my passport in order to fuel up cars just South of the border for a 30% savings on gas due to their much lower taxes. Hmm.

In general I really like Canada, but we're not without or flaws & lying corrupt politicians here, too, like the rest of the world.

Canadian cities are also very car-centric. Public transit here in Vancouver is OK in the city but horrendous in the suburbs so everyone with a drivers licence that can afford a car has one. Vancouver has spend Millions of dollars on making more and more bike lanes throught the city, so if you live downtown, sure, you can cycle around better than ever. But in general Canada is a country of urban sprawl and a lot of Winter, so not really a cycling nation like Holland or anything. Plus we are a HUGE country, so like the USA some places are more bike friendly than others.
