Can a cat bite alot if they are in pain?

Yes. Does the cat show any other signs such as lethargy, changes in eating and drinking or vomiting? Does he/she still let you touch him/her?

Yes, cats can get aggressive when they're in pain/sick/stressed-out.

Biting humans or biting itself? Aggression can be a sign of pain, for sure. And if your cat is biting itself it could be pain, allergy or anxiety.

Pretty much any animal that's sick or injured may bite. Their aggressiveness is their way of protecting themselves if predators come at them. Humans also show aggression when hurt, but it doesn't always to be physically.

Cats will bite when they don't want to be touched or disturbed, which certainly could indicate pain or sickness. I'd take him/her to the vet for a checkup. Also some cats are very sensitive to even slight changes in their environment. Sometimes a cat's personality will change abruptly because of mental illnesses just like in people. We had an older cat who became very fearful of people and started hiding all day. I think she may have had some kind of dementia.

My mom's friend, who rescues cats, says that cats can also bite if they feel isolated.
