Then change the password.

By chance do you also belong to MySpace? That's a hacker and phisher magnet.
If you do, then change your MySpace password also.

I keep having trouble with it. I can sign in and read mail but many times it will not let me send replies. When I try to, I constantly get error messages.

Try Yahoo! Mail Beta, or if you're using it try switching back. I haven't been having problems with it.

Yahoo Mail does not like my smartphone/windows mobile. I can read mail and delete (deleteone at a time only PITA) but I cannot post.

Is there anywhere else a person can set up a free email account?

The only time I had trouble with Yahoo mail was when I was using dial-up (NetZero)

Haven't had any problems with my Yahoo email (which I've had for 3 & 1/2 years)-despite using dial-up (different ISP).

However, I don't use any gizmos (peripheral devices), so I don't know about that.

msn/hotmail (that's what my boyfriend uses).

nutbag: you can set up free email at hotmail.com through msn. I've never had problems with that account.

It's fine for me. It's probably something on your end.

I had two weird things happen. First, I was about to respond to an e-mail, and when I hit compose, the yahoo banner at the top of the page had switched to Chinese! Then, today, I got an e-mail from Yahoo, thanking me for ordering their tool bar. I hadn't ordered anything!

The page kept locking up, today. I got a little message that they were having a "temporary" problem.
