I don't have any piercings or tattoos. I have a fear of needles and other sharp objects.

Well I am wondering if I can poke through...

I had very large gauges in my ear and I can still see a hole, its not that painful if you have experience with pain.

As most tattoo artist say, if your older you can handle it, if not its probably the most pain you'll be in your life, but that tattoos. Piercings hurt but its a different kind of pain. Its hard to explain, its like horrible but its gone in less then a few seconds if even that.

Yes, I believe you can, cuz my aunt had gotten her ears pierced when she was a young girl, but had problems and took the earrings out, a couple of weeks, later----fast-forward 50+ years, and my cousin poked them through with a broom straw.

I would suggest "soaking" a needle in alcohol, and poking them through----I pierced extra holes in one of my ears, with a needle (after numbing it with ice)----it should be fine. Don't forget to swab your ears, real good, everyday (front and back) with hydrogen peroxide-soaked cotton balls (a separate cotton ball for each ear), and twisting the earrings around (like you would a dial, on something)----and, don't remove the earrings (should be post earrings), for, at least, a month.

I see no point in getting any tattoos or more piercings other than one in each ear. That's all I got and probably all I'll ever get. I don't like needles and don't think it's necessary to go through pain to attract more attention. I attract plenty of attention already from mostly the kind of people I shouldn't be involved with.

Personally, not for me. I've always had this thing about 'damaging' my body, and I can't get over that idea. I don't want to leave a permanent destruction.

That's not to say I haven't thought about tattoos that I'd like. I would love a small one as a symbol of my daughter, but I can't get over the idea of the 'imperfection' of a mark on my body. I got a dental filling a few years ago and struggled enough with that - I couldn't do something voluntary, I don't think.

I recently had my first tattoo done, just a small wrist piece but I love it, it's symbolises something personal to me which I suppose is the whole point of ink. Had a number of different piercings over the years, some retired now. My most recent piercings were a tragus for both ears; had to abstain from earphones for a couple of months but now the jewellery is changed and the cartilage healed, they are no trouble at all.

I had my ears pierced as a kid but they've healed up. Am thinking about repiercing them though.

I have three tattoos at the moment and am planning on more. They don't hurt as much as you think, at least after the first five seconds or so. It just feels like a sunburn at worst.

I'm thinking of having a feather tattooed on my forearm - to remind me to be gentle with myself.

None. I would've liked pierced ears but my eczema means that I can't do that. I did fancy getting a tattoo a few years back...I'm so glad I didn't do it now, though.

I don't want to cover up my skin and/or make myself more vulnerable. I have negative thoughts whenever I see someone with piercings. I just think that someone could come up to him/her and rip it out.

I think that would be an awesome tattoo. It has a meaning, and you will be reminded of it every time you see that feather.

This is late but I have a nose piercing. I was really scared at first. I got it when I was 14. I was in my punk/emo phase.

I was scared when I saw the stud and realized it would be in my nose. My piercer used a single use needle. They asked me to close my eyes and breathe in then out. Im not gonna lie, it hurts. It feels like a hot sharpness. My eyes started to water alot. It looked great at the end though.

Where I want was quiet. It was a piercing and tattoo shop. They had music on though. The room I was in was quiet and the chair was very comfortable. My piercer wore gloves btw. Also tattoo and piercing parlours should smell like strong cleaning products. Thats a good sign.
