This made me think about how a lot of people, especially little kids, don't like to eat cookies that are already broken, as if they lose all their flavor or something. So broken cookies are like people with disabilities or autism, while the whole cookies are the so-called "cool" ones who may bully the broken cookies or treat them as outcasts. But then the whole cookies always get devoured first, so it's total karma. 
But then again, if cookies were sentient, maybe they'd *want* to be eaten. If they don't they'll get all stale and gross and no one will want them at all, whole or broken.
