A Cat Window Perch

I brought a window perch, I put it together this morning, it said I have to wait 24 hours to put weight on it. Do anyone have a window perch? I'm wondering do I really have to wait?

We never had one. We had furniture in front one of the windows thou so the cat could sit & look out. If glue is involved in the perch I would wait the 24 hours because glue has to dry.
