Do I have a right to be upset?

My 20th birthday was this last Thursday, and I went out of town with my girlfriend. I waited up until 1AM for midnight calls from my parents or best friend, someone and didn't get any. I woke up and still no call from my mom, but my dad texted me Happy Birthday! And that's all. My mom texts me at 8am and says the same thing. I texted my mom and said, "Not going to call your only child on his birthday?" And she replies, "I'm getting ready I'll call you when I get home from my class." And finally calls me in a few hours. My dad never called me to tell me happy birthday. To me a call is worth more than a text, especially from my parents. Also my parents are both night owls and are up well past midnight every day. My dad works night shift. Do I have a reason to be upset? That neither my parents or best friend called until I asked them to? Or am I overreacting? I have a problem with holding in how I feel when I'm very angry, and I told her it upset me.

I think I would be hurt if nobody messaged or called me to wish me a happy birthday.

I got a little hurt when a couple of friends on Facebook (they are sisters) didn't put a happy birthday message on my timeline, even though they go on Facebook a lot and they've always wished me a happy birthday on my timeline before. I always take the trouble to wish THEM a happy birthday every year, plus I often like their photos they post of their kids, etc.
But I got happy birthdays from lots of other people so I didn't focus on those two people, but you know what I mean.
