What is your favorite century in history? My favorite is the 20th century.

It's not very creative but I would have to say the 20th century, preferably from the 60's to the mid-90's. In the previous centuries women weren't allowed to do much of anything, and many life-threatening diseases weren't yet preventable by vaccines or treatable with antibiotics, and autistic people were still commonly locked up away from society and treated like they were barely human, as were people with mental illness in general.

Social Studies was one of my worse school subjects. It was mostly incredibly boring stuff about Canadian politics and maybe war, and barely anything interesting about our history, like living in the Fortress of Louisbourg or the Halifax explosion or even the freaking Bluenose! That last one is really bad, because I once heard most people in Canada know that's the name of the ship on our dimes.

In fact, if it wasn't for those Heritage Minutes on TV in the 90's, I might still not know anything about people and events and things that are a big part of our country's history.

I like the 20th, too.

Though I find the 14th through 16 centuries pretty fascinating, too.

Why didn't 20th Century Fox change its name to 21st Century Fox?

Interesting how choices are limited to our modern calendar.. although, I suppose a lot of the time before is considered prehistoric.

Anyways, this one right now in the present moment.. because we've f****d things up so hardcore that it's now do or die time for our entire species. The rates of change are off the charts, too, everything from technological to climate change. It's truly the most exciting time to be alive as a human being, ever, IMO.

The current one, I think. Because the majority of it hasn't happened yet, and so has nearly limitless possibility.

My favorite is the 20th century. 1900's, 1910's, and 1920's for Imperialist history. 1960's and 1970's for music.

Six hundred sixty thousand, nine hundred twenty-eighth century BCE's asteroid impact was a big, fat middle finger to the reptilian overlords who'd been bullying the little guys for so long.

The 57th century. So much going on! Strephon's Reforms; the Zhodani, the Vargr and the Sword Worlders conspiring against the Imperium; the Fifth Frontier War; the Imperial Family's assassination at the hands of the Archduke Dulinor, the Rebellion, the Virus, the Collapse and Hard Times...
