I always have a period of heightened anxiety in spring, since every year there is some point where the weather switches from dark and cloudy to ten days or so of blazing sun. It's like being slightly electric for up to two weeks, by which time my eyes have "recalibrated".
I remember telling this to a psychologist years ago. He laughed gently and tried to convince me my anxiety was due to other things in my life, things that were the same all year. This guy writes textbooks for psychology students.
I don't sleep a lot during the summer, though.
